In an effort to gain a more local perspective on the project, MTA has organized community focus groups which are small, geographically organized meetings. The purpose of the groups is for the MTA to learn more about your community and its issues and concerns, and for you to learn more about the Purple Line project. The MTA has gained valuable information ranging from such things as the details of the traffic circulation of local school buses, to double parking by delivery vans on narrow commercial streets. This information allows us to better design the project, and develop plans to address community concerns.

The Purple Line corridor is divided into eight Community Focus Groups. Click here to see a map of the Community Focus Groups. The groups are composed of representatives of local community associations and civic groups, as well as the principals and PTAs of the local schools. View a list of the Community Focus Groups. Each invited group has been asked to send one official representative who will be an active participant of the meeting. Other members are welcome to attend, but in the interest of maintaining a smaller working group, additional attendees may be asked to be observers who do not actively participate.
