Welcome to the Purple Line Newsletter! This week, we're sharing new information about the Purple Line project, and it's important that our stakeholders, Community Advisory Team members, businesses and agency partners learn this news from me directly.

This month's newsletter includes an interview with the Purple Line's Real Property Director, Brenda Fuller, a lifetime Prince George's County resident with a decade of leadership experience in public transit.

Happy New Year! Have you noticed that claiming a "word of the year" in January has gained popularity? Here at the Purple Line, our teams chose MOMENTUM as our word for 2024.

Approximately 170,000 people live within a half-mile radius of the Purple Line alignment, and the new transit service will introduce opportunities to Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and beyond to help bring more equitable economic development through improved transit access.

It's the season of gratitude, and from all the team members working on the Purple Line, I’m sharing a big thank you for the recent engagement and support we received during our fall meetings held virtually with neighborhoods along the alignment.

Purple Line activity in September included project progress tours with elected officials. October is an exciting month for the Purple Line as we launch our fall series of Community Advisory Team (CAT) meetings.

The Purple Line had a productive summer, with measurable project progress across Montgomery and Prince George's counties at 60 construction sites. I am pleased to share that the Purple Line is more than halfway to the finish line!

As progress continues on the Purple Line this summer, I’m excited to announce two additions to the team who will help keep the project on track.

I wanted to let our stakeholders, partners, community advisory team members, and business owners know, as soon as possible, about an important change regarding Purple Line construction.

June brings the arrival of a new summer season and, for the Purple Line, we also are entering a new season as Executive Director for Transit Development and Delivery (TDD) Matt Pollack departs from the Maryland Transit Administration.
