The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) has launched a tour of its model Purple Line Light Rail Vehicle (LRV), offering groups the opportunity to host the 7-foot-9-inch display.

Governor Larry Hogan and representatives from the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) will take part in a ceremony to announce the installation of the first section of track for the $5.6 billion Purple Line Light Rail system between New Carrollton and Bethesda.

Less than two years after Governor Larry Hogan broke ground on the Purple Line project, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and concessionaire Purple Line Transit Partners held a topping-out ceremony today, completing framework of the 170,000-square-foot Operations and Maintenance Facility (OMF).

A ceremony to mark the signing of the final bean will be held, signifying completion of the framework, or topping out, of the Glenridge Operations and Maintenance Facility (OMF).
