Students from four elementary schools who turned images of the Purple Line rail project into award-winning art will have their work reproduced on banners displayed at project sites near their schools, the Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) announced.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) has launched a tour of its model Purple Line Light Rail Vehicle (LRV), offering groups the opportunity to host the 7-foot-9-inch display.

Governor Larry Hogan and representatives from the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) will take part in a ceremony to announce the installation of the first section of track for the $5.6 billion Purple Line Light Rail system between New Carrollton and Bethesda.

A ceremony to mark the signing of the final bean will be held, signifying completion of the framework, or topping out, of the Glenridge Operations and Maintenance Facility (OMF).
